This week we could see the first 2017 Acura NSX that came from production line. The Rick Hendrick, NASCAR titan, paid $1.2 million for it at auction. This Hybrid sports car comes with 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbo engine that operates in combination with three electric motors. That is enough for 573 horses of total system output. The new Acura NSX 2017 comes equipped with 9-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive system as standard.
2017 Acura NSX design
The new NSX look is based on the “Interwoven Dynamic” exterior design that combines aesthetics of the supercar with its performance. The floating C-pillars enhance aerodynamic coefficient. It helps air to be rerouted to the side-mounted engine air intakes. Door handles are hidden in the door panel for better airflow on the side of the vehicle. Thanks to Smart Entry keyless access system, the door handle extends from the door automatically when driver approach the vehicle. Good thing is that car can be unlocked manually even if power failure happens.

Acura NSX 2017 specs and price
New NSX gets power from Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (Sport Hybrid SH-AWD) powerplant that combines three electric motors/generators with 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine. Two electric motors/generators are placed on the front wheels while third motor/generator (the Direct Drive Motor) is placed between V6 engine and gearbox in order to secure more torque and power on rear wheels. Electric motors are also generators and their function is to charge hybrid batteries. Total system output is 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft (646 Nm) of torque.

The V6 twin-turbo engine is mated to the 9-speed dual-clutch transmission and power is transferred to the rear wheels, while front wheels are propelled by two electric motors. First gear is reserved for maximum acceleration while last 9th gear has been optimized for highway cruising. There are four driving modes available thanks to Integrated Dynamics System – Quiet, Sport, Sport+ and Track. Fuel economy is rated at 21 mpg combined but, thanks to Hybrid powertrain, there are no big differences between city and highway driving – 21 and 22 mpg.
