2017 Audi S3 release date, facelift, review, specs – For 2017 model year it comes as Sedan, Sportback (Hatchback) and Cabriolet (Convertible). All models gets facelifted front fascia with slightly changes on their rear end. Dimensions are same as before but it gets new “virtual cockpit” and new safety features from “bigger brothers” and it color palette is wider for 6 new colors. The new Audi S3 2017 will be available for sale later next month.

The new 2017 Audi S3 family comes with full range of body versions: Sedan, Sportback and Cabriolet (Convertible). Size of the new S3 remains unchanged but it receives lines from Audi A4 which are more aggressive and sharper. Front fascia has received more changes than other part of the car. It now features wider hexagonal and more angular grille surrounded with flatter Xenon headlights.

Its aggressive look enhances muscular hood and wide bumper which give it RS3 appearance. At the rear end there are just small changes such as a reshaped bumper, new LED taillights and redesigned diffuser with bigger fins. There are twelve 2017 Audi S3 colorsavailable and this palette includes six new colors: Area Blue, Cosmic Blue, Daytona Gray, Nano Gray, Tango Red and Vegas Yellow.

There are no big changes inside the cabin of the new A3 but compared to its competition we can say that it is still fresh. “Virtual cockpit” is something new and it informs driver about important driving-relevant information through large 12.3-inch TFT display. There are two views available: “classic” with classic analog gauges view and “infotainment” with more space for navigation maps, telephone lists, audio and radio while gauges show as small round clocks.

On central stack you can find standard infotainment system with standard 7-inch touchscreen display. It delivers information about traffic and info and weather, offers Google Maps and Google Street View applications and connectivity for mobile devices through Wi-Fi hotspot and LTE connectivity.

When it comes to safety it is almost in same level as before. For 2017 model year it gets a new assistance system for driver which we can find in larger models. What is new for 2017 Audi S3? Well, there is Active Lane Assist, Traffic Jam Assist with Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Sense Front Warning, Rear-Cross Traffic Warning, Pedestrian Monitor and Stop & Go Feature.

All models come with either 6-speed manual or a 7-speed automatic S-Tronic transmission. It also comes with the multi-plate clutch and the Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC) for better handling and performance. Through Quattro AWD system power goes to all four wheels and it is estimated that new S3 will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.7 seconds and its top speed will be limited at 155 mph.

2017 Audi S3 price and release date

The 2017 Audi S3 price should remain same as before because it received just small changes. If we consider that current model has a price of €40,600 in Germany (around $46,190) the facelifted model could reach cost of €42,600 (about $47,780) without any additional upgrade. First models will be available for sale in May 2016 while their deliveries we can expect during this summer. Main rivals should be Volkswagen Golf R and Ford Focus RS..
