2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 price, interior, specs


The 2017 Chevy Silverado was presented to the public in May 2016 with new High Desert Package. This is a pickup truck that will arrive on the US car market this fall. Standard Silverado will be offered in 3 different versions, 1500, 2500 HD and 3500 HD. The all 2017 Silverado models will be lightweight with better suspension for better handling, performance and fuel economy than the preceding versions. There would be more comfort, power and functionality in all versions, along with a strong engine which would offer seamless rides on terrains of any type. The High Desert package offers luxury and the refinement of the Chevy Suburban as Sandor Piszar said, director of Chevy truck marketing.

Buyers would be pleased to find the exterior redesigned and refreshed, with some differences from the 2016 version. It will be available in 3 body styles (regular cab, double cab and crew cab) 5 trim levels: WT, LS, LT, LTZ and High Country. For a start, the front fascia will be slightly redesigned in order to improve aerodynamics without to compromise cooling efficiency. There will be revised front grille and the LED headlamps would be refreshed while HID (High Intensive Density) projector headlights are available with LTZ and High Country models. The sides would look more stylish due to brand new alloy wheels. With improved aerodynamics and redesigned fenders, the car is likely to be more attractive for buyers.

Interior of the new Silverado pickup-truck is roomy with good noise insulation. There is an Active Noise Cancellation feature that comes with 6.2-liter V8 as standard. Buyers can expect more comfort in the internal cabin this time, with a sophisticated air-conditioning system, seats covered in nice upholstery and steering wheel wrapped in rich leather making both short and long-distance rides comfortable for occupants and driver. There would be more space in the 2017 Silverado cabin, although the space would actually depend on the version that is being used. The large dashboard will have button controls placed conveniently with MyLink system with 7-inch and 8-inch color touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay function. Safety features would consist of traction control system and cruise control among others while infotainment aspects would comprise of advanced audio system, state-of-the-art navigation and Wi-Fi.

Standard equipment for all models includes air conditioning, tinted windows, remote keyless entry, rear vision camera, remote locking tailgate while depending on chosen trim level you can get 10-way power front seats, rear-window defogger, rear park assist, Bose premium audio system dual-zone automatic climate control and heated leather-wrapped steering wheel. The truck would draw power from two engines. The primary one will be a 4.3-liter V6 petrol engine capable of offering maximum 297 horsepower along with peak 330 lb-ft of torque. Second engine 5.3-liter V8 with 380 horses and 416 lb-ft of torque. Third engine is 6.2-liter V8 that will be available with Double and Crew Cab models It will be able to deliver 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. All these engine will be paired with a 8-speed auto transmission gearbox paired to them, and able to drive power to the wheels at both the front and back. The peak mileage would be 24 mpg on bigger roads and 19 mpg in congested city traffic situations. When it comes to diesel option, there is a rumor about the Duramax 6.6-liter V8 TDI powermill which would be able to generate maximum 380 hp power along with peak enormous 605 lb-ft of torque.

Price and release date

The cost of the truck would vary between $26,000 and $35,000 USD. The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 would come at $26,900 USD while 2500 HD will be available at $33,400 USD and 3500 HD will come at $34,400 USD. The 2017 Silverado would be launched in the market at the end of the year 2016 while Chevrolet officials announced Silverado with High Desert Package for fall of 2016.
