The 2017 Chevy Volt comes in only two trim levels LT and Premium. Chevy designers said that the dynamic shape of the new 2017 Volt is inspired by the natural figures of winded sands. Based on than, on outside look dominates fender that blends into the hood and carved figure sides. Base LT model comes with standard LED head- and tailligths, 17 inch alloy wheels and body-color mirrors while optional features include heated side mirrors. The Volt keeps its signature double digital color displays with an 8-inch reconfigurable screen in the instrument cluster to relay motorist information. An added 8-inch touchscreen display in the center of the control panel manages the Chevrolet MyLink system. It features Apple CarPlay with integrated iPhone feature that supports Phone calls, Messages, Music, Maps and 3rd party applications. Its only flaw could be tight backseat but the front seats are comfortable and they easily accommodate large and tall adults.
2017 Chevy Volt range specs
Under the hood of the 2017 Chevy Volt is a plug-in hybrid system inherited from 2016 year model. It consists of 1.5-liter petrol engine (generator) and twin electric motors. This engine delivers 101 horsepower at 5,600 rpm while total output of this powertrain is 149 horsepower and it has excellent torque of 294 lb-ft. The electric motors power gets from a 18.4 kWh Li-ion batteries which can be partially recharge from the generator (engine) and regenerative braking. There are four drive modes: Normal, Sport, Hold and Mountain which helps driver to adjust deceleration and what amount of regenerated braking will be sent to the battery pack. According to Chevy officials it runs from 0-60 mph in 8.4 seconds with 98 mph of top speed which is electronically limited.
