The 2017 Kia Cadenza was unveiled at the latest International Auto Show in New York. It looks that designers of the new Cadenza was inspired by Kia’s Novo Concept and Sportspace cars. The biggest change on new Cadenza is the platform that it rides on.
Despite the fact that it was recently presented to the public, its release date is set for late months of this year. Main rivals to the new Kia Cadenza 2017 will be Chevy Impala, Nissan Maxima, Bucik LaCrosse, Toyota Avalon, Ford Fusion and Hyundai Azera.
2017 Kia Cadenza changes
Main philosophy in designing the new Cadenza is “the straight line simplicity” with a single contour that spans in full length of the car. This makes its profile more sleeker. Front fascia is recognizable by Z-shaped LED headlights, “tiger nose” grille, sport bumper with large integrated daytime running LED lights. With overall design and exterior details new Cadenza sedan has improved coefficient drag which is lowered from 0.29 to 0.28.
Massive bumper and Z-shaped LED “piano key” taillights highlight rear side of the car. There are also large exhaust pipes, chrome garnish details and some chrome details on side mirrors and last quarter windows. Length of the 2017 Cadenza is same as its predecessor but it is now a little bit wider with longer wheelbase and thanks to new technology it received some weight loss.
New Kia Cadenza 2017 interior
Just like the exterior, interior of the new 2017 Kia Cadenza is slightly redesigned but there are some features that were inherited from previous year model. Buyers of the 2017 year model have possibility to customize their own Cadenza with option of four different interior colors and White Package is now available as an option with a new black wood-grain-style finishing trim with a pearlescent radiance. There are some benefits inside the cabin from larger wheelbase and wider body. If we take into the consideration the fact that new Cadenza isn’t longer than previous year model larger legroom by half an inch is a significant improvement.
For more stable and sportier feeling during the ride the driver’s seat is now lower than before with additionally adaptive seat cushion which makes easier for drivers to find their comfort position behind the steering wheel. When it comes to technology there are new Head Up Display (HUD) for better information receiving, Surround View Monitor with better resolution and software and awesome UVO infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto features. For music lovers there is a Harman / Kardon 12-speaker premium audio system available as an option.
New Cadenza engine specs
The new Kia Cadenza 2017 will be powered by reliable 3.3-liter V6 engine which is improved for better fuel economy. Its figures have not been released yet but Kia officials said that it is estimated that their V6 powerplant will be able to produce around 290 horsepower. This amount of power will be transferred to front wheels through brand new FWD – based 8-speed automatic gearbox. Despite two more gears, the new 8-speed transmission is lighter than the unit that we could find it current outgoing model.
In terms of safety new Cadenza has a body structure that is built from more than 50% of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) which is twice more than you can find in outgoing model. There are some features for driver assistance such as Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, Smart Blind Spot Detection System, Advanced Smart Cruise Control with stop-and-go functionality and Lane Departure Warning. Main goal for Kia engineers is 5-star rating from the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration while from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety they expect a Top Safety Pick+ rating.
2017 Kia Cadenza release date and price
As we said before the new Kia Cadenza 2017 release date is set for late 2016 with some fresh information about its specifications, exact dimensions and of course price. We don’t expect significant rise of price which should be around $3,000 more than current model. That means that 2017 Kia Cadenza price will start around $37,000 which should keep it competitive against its competitors.
