2017 Mazda CX-4 review, price, specs

2017 Mazda CX-4 review, price, specs – Mazda Company teased us with latest project that will upgrade growing crossover SUV market. The new vehicle from Mazda caries a name CX-4 and it will be presented in April, at the 2016 Beijing Auto Show. It should bridge the gap between two cars from different segments: Mazda3 and Mazda CX-5. It should be smaller than CX-5 and it will represent sportier coupe variant of the CX-3. Mazda unveiled teaser photos in less than a month before its official presentation.

What about other coupe-like crossovers on the market? There won’t be real rivals of the Mazda CX-4 2017 because they are only from luxury carmakers (BMW and Mercedes-Benz) and closest to it is Nissan Qashqai. Despite similar size and level of equipment CX-4 will come with better engine that will be able to offer more powerful engine lineup.

Teased images represent the prototype that was spotted in Asia in 2015 and it was ready for production even then. It features KODO design on front fascia with massive bumper with shield-shaped grille surrounded with Koeru’s frame. “Surrounded” with LED headlights it represents new style that wasn’t seen on other Mazda’s vehicles before. Sportier appearance is enhanced with blacked-out chrome details instead shiny ones. Looking from the rear we can notice that its taillights are larger than other Mazda vehicles with thicker chrome strip between them. Its tailgate has smoother appearance and lower position with taller position of windscreen. Coupe design is enhanced with B- and C-pillars and they are blacked-out for more aggressive design.

If you compare the 2017 Mazda CX-4 with concept version which was presented to us in 2015 you will notice almost same interior design. We can say that it is similar to the Mazda3 interior. It features a floating center display which can be controlled by the rotary knob placed behind the shift knob. Central stack comes with rectangular vents under infotainment screen. Form teaser images we can notice plenty of premium details such as leather, aluminum inserts, carbon details on steering wheel, contrast stitching and good finish touch. Cos the coupe design it doesn’t promise plenty of room on the second row of seats but with the bigger and wider rear windscreen it will have decent visibility.
