The 2018 Mazda CX-5 is best selling Mazda`s crossover SUV. It was spotted on the road, wearing cammo…
The Mazda CX-5 was released way back in 2012. To give it a new life, the company is introducing a new version in 2018. After all the changes are made the end result should be a desirable car – the car that will keep the spirit of the company’s CX-5 untouched and follow the legacy. CX-5 is the first Mazda to use the new Kodo design style, which is now being carried on all the models.
2018 Mazda CX-5 review
Is there any change on exterior?
The prototype of the car has a camouflage cover and fans have been dying to see what is under that. Although nothing has been officially said, the prototype of the 2018 model looks really close to the Chinese-market CX-4. The front seems to be identical and it isn’t so bad itself.
The next generation of CX-5 comes with a new grille as well as an all new pair of headlights. This results in a good integration of the car into the 3D-grille design. The rear seems to be roughly the same as the ongoing model. Although the curves on the model appear to be slightly changed and are close to something a bit more up to date. We can also look forward to new colors and a new design for the wheels. This is a sportier model with larger wheels and high-performance tires.
The new Mazda CX-5 2018 review of interior.
The new model will surely continue the cabin of the new CX-4 which ironically is based on the current CX-5. Onlookers can expect to see a new infotainment system. The build quality is in for an improvement. The seats will be more supportive and comfortable. There is room for better safety equipment like collision warning, parking sensors front as well as back, rear cross-traffic alert, and an adaptive cruise control.
2018 Mazda CX-5 specs
It is highly possible for the new Mazda CX-5 2018 to feature the same engines as the current model. The base car will come with a 2.0-liter engine for 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Among other engines, a 2.5-liter inline four cylinder engine with 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft torque will also be available. The two engines will drive the four wheels with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic transmission. The performance and fuel efficiency is the major aim of the model.
2018 Mazda CX-5 release date, price
The redesigned model’s starting price is expected to be close to the present car at $22,675. The high-end models could go around $35,000. Release date is still unknown, but we expect to see it on the road in second half of 2017. The 2018 Mazda CX-5 is a crossover SUV that might just be worth its value.
