The 2018 Toyota RAV4 is a crossover SUV from the Japanese car maker which normally is known for its reliable sedans. However, with the surge in SUVs in the current market, it came with the 2018 RAV4 which is known for its comfort, space, and decent engine power. 2018 Toyota RAV4 redesign review
The RAV4 already comes with excellent looks and appeal. It won’t be surprising if the car maker decides to meddle with that on this vehicle. Based on the images which are available, you do not notice too many changes on the outside. There will be LED headlights with daytime running lights, foglights and 18-inch chrome plated rims. However, you will notice that there are slight changes on the bumpers, headlamps, and grille. Rear-mounted spear tire will be out and with this model which allows rear door to swing up for easier load to cargo area. The 2018 Toyota RAV4 will be available in five trim levels: LE, XLE, SE, Limited and Platinum. There will be three models available for Hybrid version: XLE, SE and Limited.
The new 2018 RAV4 will come with an increase of 9 inches, which means that future owners will have more legroom. For tall people, your comfort is going to be improved. Inside the cabin you will notice upgraded materials, keyless entry system, power driver seat, premium audio system that comes with integrated navigation, and power liftgate. Some of the interior features include sunroof, rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, and 4.2″ infotainment display. You can expect some advanced safety features and a bigger display.
There will be plenty of optional features, such as JBL premium audio system with 11 speakers, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, Bird’s Eye parking system and heated steering wheel. When it comes to safety there will be standard Star Safety System. This safety system comes with Traction control, Enhanced Vehicle stability control, Electronic brake-force distribution, Anti-lock braking system with Brake assist and Smart stop technology. There are also Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P) driver assist system that includes Lane departure alert, Automatic emergency braking, Automatic high beams, Steering assist function and Dynamic radar cruise control.
2018 RAV4 specs changes
The engine of the RAV4 comes with two options which are the 2.5 liter 4-cylinder naturally aspirated engine with 176 BHP and 172 lb-ft of torque. European models of this crossover SUV will probably be available with a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder gas engine which has been produced in partnership with car manufacturer BMW. The new all RAV4 models will be equipped with 6-speed automatic transmission.
According to rumors, there might a 2018 RAV4 hybrid which can come with the same set up as seen in the Prius. It can come with a 2.5 liter 194 BHP hybrid system, a CVT style transmission and a 6-speed auto transmission.
New Toyota RAV4 2018 release date and price
The car maker has not officially communicated anything about the release date of the next-gen RAV4 and hence it is going to be difficult to predict the timings. But, with things known in Toyota, their production cycle can release it into the international market towards the end of the year 2017. The price range of the 2018 Toyota RAV4 could be around the usual rates where the base model should start around $25,000 or $30,000.
